According to People, Wynonna Judd’s two children from her marriage with Arch Kelley III, Elijah and Grace, would refer to their late grandmother, Naomi Judd, as “Mawmaw.”

Naomi said in 2008 that being “completely present” with her grandchildren was something she enjoyed.

She even nearly missed a flight once when Elijah and Grace came to see their grandmother and they chatted over hot chocolate.

Naomi Judd grandchildren: Grace Pauline Kelley, Elijah Judd

While Naomi adored her grandchildren, she once described Elijah’s birth as “the most terrifying experience of [her] life” in 2007. (via Grand Magazine).

Wynonna struggled during the birth, but Naomi, a registered nurse, was by her side the entire time.

While Naomi had stated that Elijah could one day be a comedian and that Grace could sing, she also stated that she did not want her grandchildren to follow in her family’s footsteps in show business.

Naomi and her grandchildren were never photographed together before her untimely death.
