In addition to his work as an author in the United States, George Edward Foreman is best known for his previous careers as a professional boxer, businessman, and minister. George competed in the sport of boxing under the ring name “Big George” from 1967 until 1997, and his career spanned the years 1967–1997.
Both times he competed, he ended up victorious in the heavyweight division of the world championship, and he also took home the gold medal at the Olympics. As a successful entrepreneur, he is best recognized for being the creator of the George Foreman Grill.
Both the World Boxing Hall of Fame and the International Boxing Hall of Fame have honored Foreman with inductions.
