Born on November 28, 1929, Berry Gordy III is an American former record executive, record producer, composer, film producer, and television producer better known by his stage name Berry Gordy Jr.
His most notable accomplishment is being the creator of the Motown record label and its offshoots, which for many years was the highest-earning enterprise owned by African Americans.
