Jacobs started out in college at Arkansas State. He made 31 tackles, four interceptions, and eight pass breakups in 13 games during the 2018 season. He received a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honor after the season. He made four starts in the 2019 season and recorded 21 tackles, two pass breakups, and one season-ending ACL tear.
After the season, he changed schools and went to Arkansas. On October 26, 2020, Jacobs decided not to play in the season’s last six games and announced his intent to enter the 2021 NFL Draft. He made 17 tackles in four games with the Razorbacks, one of which was for a loss. He played the fourth-most defensive snaps on the squad with 249 total.
