Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.

A Brazilian beach-goer is lucky to be alive after a shark chomped his behind near the same spot that a drunk man was killed while peeing a week earlier.

The victim was fortunate that he didn’t get his leg “torn off,” reported Jacobina Noticias of the flank attack, which occurred Sunday off Piedade Beach, near the city of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, according to Newsflash.

The victim, Everton dos Reis Guimaraes, was reportedly squatting in the water when a shark allegedly bit him in the rear, according to the local fire brigade.

The 32-year-old man suffered injuries to the back of his left thigh and buttocks and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The fortunate soul was then transferred to another facility, where he underwent surgery and is reportedly currently in recovery.

He should thank his lucky stars he survived. The rump-ravaging incident occurred on a stretch of beach where another 13 shark attacks have been recorded, seven of which have proved fatal, Newsflash reported.

In the most alarming incident on July 10, an intoxicated reveler was mauled to death by one of the predators while urinating in the sea with a buddy.

Unfortunately, despite signs warning people to stay out of the water, the region is a shark attack hot zone, as it is entirely unguarded by reefs. Incidents are especially common during this time of year, as the heavy rains make the ocean cloudy.

The incident occurred near the same spot that 51-year-old Marcelo Rocha Santos, above, was mauled to death while peeing in the sea a week prior. Newsflash
