Sterling Knight Wiki Biography
Sterling Knight is an American actor, comedian, and singer-songwriter who was born on 5 March 1989, who began his career as an actor in 2005. He is perhaps best known for his supporting role in the movie “17 Again” in the year 2009.
So just how rich is Sterling Knight? Sources estimate that Knight’s net worth is over $2 million dollars, his wealth having been earned largely from his career as an actor, now spanning more than 10 years.
Sterling Knight Net Worth $2 Million
Sterling Knight was born and raised in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina USA, with a sister and brother. His career started in local productions on stage from the age of 10, and then starting professionally with small roles in “Calm” (2006), “Career Day” (2007) starring the Kennedy family, and “Hi-Jinks” (TV 2007). Also in 2007 came his role in “Hannah Montana” – which was the first with Disney – in which he played boyfriend Lucan to Lily, played by Miley Cyrus. He also appeared two episodes of “The Closer” in 2007, all of which contributed modestly but steadily to Sterling’s net worth.
Knight has been acting consistently since, in roles of varying importance. In 2008 he made an appearance in an episode of the part-animated TV series “Out of Jimmy’s Head”, and in two episodes of the TV medical drama series “Grey’s Anatomy” fourth season. His net worth was rising.
In 2009 as Chad Dylan Cooper, Sterling was a cast member in the first series of “Mackenzie Falls”, and he also played the same, but leading role, in the spin-off series “Sonny With a Chance” in more than 40 episodes until 2011. This brought Knight extended exposure to audiences, as well as helping his rising net worth, especially as he won a Hollywood Teen Award: Comedy for his performance.
Meantime, in the comedy movie “17 Again” (2009) Knight played Alex O’Donnell, the son of Matthew Perry (Zac Efron), a box-office success which saw it earn triple its budget. In 2010, Sterling acted the part of Christopher Wilde in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Starstruck”, in addition to singing the opening song on the soundtrack. Subsequently, the following year with co-star Ashlee Hewitt, Knight played Ty Parker in the movie “Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale”, his role in this movie being no coincidence as it was that of a singer and song writer.
Sterling continued in the “Sonny with a Chance” TV series in 2011, and also in the further spin-off comedy sketch series “So Random”, for the one series. That same year, he made a cameo appearance as himself in the part-animated “The Muppets” film. His net worth was continuing to improve.
Knight appeared as a recurring guest star in “Melissa & Joey” as the boyfriend of Lennox, played by Taylor Spreitler in 2013, and in 2014 as Billy he starred in the TV sitcom “The Hot Wives of Orlando” – his net worth rose again.
Currently, Sterling Knight is working on “It Snows All The Time” with Lesley Ann Warren, due for release in early 2016.
In his personal life, Sterling Knight enjoys playing the guitar, golf and also snowboarding, but otherwise Sterling keeps his off-screen life very private.
